BRAZIL - 43% - DARK-MILK - Sensations of infused black tea… scent of driftwood warming in the sun… It is Brazilian cocoa, its bitterness, tartness and tannic power, calmed by the bewitching force of milk.
ECUADOR - 72% - DARK - Think of flowers (jasmine? rose? up to you) and forest, undergrowth, cut grass, hazelnut… Fruits (banana, coconut…) make your eyes widen. This is lush Ecuador, the cradle of cocoa.

BRAZIL - M. LIBANIO AGRICOLA SA - Gandu, Bahia - Manoel Libânio da Silva Filho created his company in 1922. At eight plantations, spanning 6,700 acres, this giant is an example of successful sustainable development. Rainforest Alliance Certified, they produce high quality cocoa with exemplary respect for the old-growth forests that surround them, and agricultural practices to match. Valrhona, a tireless pioneer of the CSR approach, has been sourcing from the estate for twenty-odd years, and signed a long-term partnership with them in 2013. Visit the plantation.
ECUADOR - OSELLA S.A. Tambo, Guayas - The Osella company and its director Jacinto Andrade have been contributing to the commercial strength of Ecuador’s emblematic cocoa variety, the well-named Nacional, for 30 years.
