Chocolat-e with a Purpose

“Chocolat-e is more than just a chocolate brand. Ethically and sustainably grown and processed through the entire supply chain, it makes sense to us to give back to our community and to help in the best way we can. From start to finish, we are Chocolat-e with a Purpose.”

We love Ukandu.

We love them so much that we give them up to 10% of our profit, annually.

A large group of people, all wearing the same dark green shirt, represent UKANDU.

“Until there’s a cure there’s UKANDU. We recognize that cancer impacts the entire family and we aim to provide parents and caregivers a respite from the physical, emotional and financial toll childhood cancer poses to families. We help families find respite while helping their children to reclaim classic childhood experiences – all 100% free of charge.”

“It all started with Jason Hickox, CEO of UKANDU – his personality, dedication and… humility. He invited us to be part of the Wine and Dine event in May 2023 and we accepted, not really knowing what to expect. What we saw was just amazing: a very organized and friendly event orchestred by an efficient, caring team. We were not treated as vendors but as partners. The way they treated their guests was also very revealing: guests, not donors.

Then we were invited to the Ukandu’s golf tournament, apparently we did good the first time! And this day, all became clear. After a full day around all the volunteers, we were going to partner with these people for all the good they were providing to the kids. Good people, good intentions, good organization.

We have the Benefit Corporation for Good certification (and officially applying for the B Corp certification), it’s more than a label, it’s a mindset. So helping a non-profit to try to make a difference? Sure! Ukandu does more than supporting their cause, Ukandu generates a rare human positive energy. They make us feel good, and useful. Ukandu is one big family and we love being part of it.”

ROSE HAVEN, 2023 MOTHER’S DAY FOR MOMS IN NEED

“Rose Haven was the first of its kind 25 years ago, as the only agency serving women and children during the daytime hours. Today we remain the sole agency in Portland serving this population, addressing their need for safety, resources, and community connection.”
We decided to partner with Rose Haven to celebrate Mother’s Day and make a difference! It’s our way to say “Happy Mother’s Day”, make it yours.
Enjoy, share our gourmet chocolate, and feel good.
A lot of customers – though not enough, joined us in our first attempt – helping the amazing volunteers at Rose Haven who dedicate their days to women in need by keeping them safe, fed, and dignified.
10% of each bar or box sold went to Rose Haven.

JANUS YOUTH, FUNDRAISER FOR INCLUSION

With a commitment to partnering with the community, Janus Youth Programs has become one of the most diverse nonprofits in the Pacific Northwest, serving Oregon and Washington since 1972.
Every year, Janus Youth Programs helps over 6,000 children, youth, and families by providing vital services and support. Their accomplishments are astounding: assisting 400 youth daily, sheltering 200 youth nightly, distributing 11,000 hygiene and first-aid items to homeless youth on the streets, and offering 20 college scholarships. Additionally, they operate Portland’s only two trauma-informed homeless youth shelters, serving 60 youth each night, and providing services at the MacLaren Youth Correction Facility.
We humbly contributed to Janus Youth Programs’ efforts during Pride month and Summer 2023. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth and celebrate the power of diversity and inclusion.
