HOW TO MAKE IT RIGHT HERE TOO? THINK LOCAL.

THINK LOCAL

We based our headquarters in Sandy, Oregon, on the way to Mount Hood. We hired a local contractor, Corrie, and his team from Pacific Electric, to help us remodel what later became our space. Like you, we love the internet and a good bargain, but we chose to use local partners and suppliers, even if it meant less profit for the company.

FOR OUR CHOCOLATE PRODUCTION, LOCAL MEANS FRANCE

Why France? For our chocolatier, Frédéric, as well as our chocolate provider, Valrhona, France is local. French savoir-faire has been proven in the past, and is still accurate - you will have the pleasure of finding out
Our bars and bites are produced by Bovetti Chocolats in Terrasson, a small town located in the southwest of France. Marie-Estelle, Valter Bovetti, and their team - so many people to thank - did a terrific job. They even convinced us to use vegetal cellophane, as opposed to plastic wrap, for our bars.
Go visit the Bovetti Chocolate Museum if you're in the area, it’s worth it!

Our bar sleeves are printed a few miles away by Cartolux, as well as the flow wrap for our Discovery Bites. For obvious food safety reasons, chocolate has to be wrapped as soon as it is produced.
Why do we print there, and not here in the U.S.? To protect the quality of our chocolate, it is better to import it fully packaged. This guarantees that there are fewer potential damages during the shipping process, as well as the warranty of long lasting freshness.

ONCE THE CHOCOLATE ARRIVES IN THE U.S., LOCAL MEANS OREGON

Our cardboard boxes are not imported from China (still cheaper, even during Covid times), but rather designed and printed in Tigard, OR, by B+B Print Source. The cardboard is made in the U.S., and boxes are assembled and filled in Sandy, OR, by us. Our labels are printed in house, and our sleeve bags come from Wisconsin (100% recycled material)
Utilizing local businesses costs extra, we know that - we have made the calculation! But at the end of the day, we can brag about the fact that we know the exact source of all our goods, from the beans to the packaging. We're willing to play the local game, and gather as many people from the community as we can, to join us in our adventure.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

WE CONSIDER THEM MORE OUR PARTNERS THAN OUR CLIENTS. YOU'LL SEE WHY.

Chocolat-e has been a tremendous asset to my client appreciation process. Many of my clients are foodies, and many are also sensitive to environmental issues. The combination of unique, high-quality treats and minimalist, recyclable packaging creates an irresistible gift. The aesthetic of the products also perfectly mirrors the values and qualities I want my clients to experience from me: nuanced, thoughtful, complex, elegant--but not the least bit pretentious. With Chocolat-e, I know I'm gifting the same joy and delight that I experienced the first time I tasted the Discovery Bites and other delicious confections.

At Homemasters, we were looking for that elusive "special touch" that lets our customers know we really appreciate them. They have already seen us go out of our way to serve them, but that magic gift box from Chocolat-e says it... with chocolate!
