THE COCOA FARM
Manoel Libânio da Silva Filho created his company in 1922. At eight plantations, spanning 6,700 acres, this giant is an example of successful sustainable development. Rainforest Alliance Certified, they produce high quality cocoa with exemplary respect for the old-growth forests that surround them, and agricultural practices to match. Valrhona, a tireless pioneer of the CSR approach, has been sourcing from the estate for twenty-odd years, and signed a long-term partnership with them in 2013. Visit the plantation.

Frédéric comes from three generations of cattlemen-butchers. Trained at Fauchon, one of the most high end caterers in France, he opens his first store in 1994 in Fontainebleau France (south east of Paris, as known as the Emperor city, named after Napoleon 1).
